Show Nursing Bottle 1200 B. C. Found in Ancient Athens PRINCETON, N. J. A baby's nursing bottle, in the style of 1200 B. C, is a new discovery from ancient Athens. The bottle was unearthed in a baby's grave by the American School of Classical Studies at Athens, of which Prof. T. Leslie Les-lie Shear of Princeton university univer-sity is field director. The bottle bears little resemblance resem-blance to streamlined glass and rubber bottles that modern infants carelessly handle. The 3.000-year-! old bottle was a little pottery pitcher ' with handle and spout and a nipple j on the side, and it must have re-j re-j quired the hand of an attendant to I keep it right side up and to support ) the weight. 1 |
