There are no children. Re-timbering of the Quadmetals mine and otherwise getting it into shape for active operations after several years of idleness, has proceeded pro-ceeded with the greatest care, with the result that not even a minor accident had occurred until last Monday morning to mar a rather remarkable record of achievement on the part of those in charge of the work. Roldo Turner, another employe, was precipitated into the water at the same time that Heslington Hes-lington was struck, presumably by the cross-head as they stood on the edge of the bucket, but Turner escaped with a fractured shoulder, from which he is recovering nicely. Heslington never regained consciousness con-sciousness and died in the local hospital some 22 hours after the accident, death being ascribed to cerebral hemorrhage. |
