Show Milford GCC Notes (By Neal Johnson) There were about 75 men from this camp, 20 from the Beaver spike camp and a number from the Cedar City camp engaged in a. forest fire fight last week. The fire was discovered early Wednesday Wednes-day evening about 20 miles southeast south-east of Minersville and was totally extinguished ajbout noon Friday. It covered near 250 acres. There was no definite answer as to how the fire was set. Two men of this company, Mar-rion Mar-rion Laseter and Woodrow Parker, are attending a life-saving school at Fort Douglas, district headquarters head-quarters of this district. The school will be conducted for a week and the men who satisfactorily pass the final examination will be awarded a Red Cross life saving certificate. Robert Steed and Henry K. Ross, along with Miss Lucile Estes and others from Milford, are spending a few days in Mt. Pleasant in connection con-nection with a church convention. This will continue for one week with the chief activities being the Bfble school and recreation trips. |
