Show COLD TURKEY It's been a long time since we had roast turkey and dressing at Xmas time, but this week we're eating without relish a generous gen-erous portion of cold turkey. Last week we exuberantly announced the beginning of regular passenger and air express ex-press service for Milford. This week we have to tell you it ain't so. The look of pleasure on Den Ilillman's face, as portrayed on our front page last issue, changed to a disappointed frown as the Skyliner, Challenger Chal-lenger Airlines' plane, soared majestically by on the south run. Hut Milford air-minded citizens, "on the ball" and hoppin' mad, dug into the Salt Lake sources of information and learned that Mr. Snyder, president of Challenger, had flown ever the field earlier and deemed the landing land-ing strip unsuitable . for safe operation of heavy airliners. Definite assurances of airliner service have been obtained, to begin as soon as the Milford aii-port is ready for such service. For the assurance of the many Milford business men, miners and citizens who were disappointed, we can promise them the airstrip air-strip will very soon be up to the standards required by Challenger for operation of theii planes. |
