Show Plan Big Fete For Blood's Birthday Officials and representative citi-zei citi-zei s of all sections of the state will take part in the Governor's Bi: thday ball, honoring Governor and Mrs. Henry H. Blood at Coconut Coco-nut Grove ballroom in Salt Lake Cue, Wednesday, October 6. The general committee headed by C. Clarence Neslen as chairman chair-man and B. H. R, binson, secretary, secre-tary, has distributed invitation-tickets invitation-tickets to the chairmen of all county coun-ty commissions, and has requested them to appoint invitation committees com-mittees to serve in each county These invitation-tickets will be available to all desiring to attend and may be obtained from the appointed ap-pointed committees. The celebration promises to be the outstanding social event of many years. The official family of the state has initiated the plan and will serve as hosts to fete the people in commemorating the sixty-fifth birthday anniversary of our governor and first lady. Admission Ad-mission will be free, but will be restricted to invitations to be distributed dis-tributed as indicated. The general committee has given assurance that there will be sufficient invitations invi-tations available to the local committees com-mittees to insure a good representation represen-tation from this section. The ball is in no sense a political politi-cal gathering, according to Mr. Robinson. It is to be a dignified, informal ball, at which all citizens and all officials may unite for a social gathering. The military adjutant general, General W. G. festivities, and the full staff of the national guard units and tie governor's military- staff will have charge of the military affairs of the evening, under direction of the theme will be carried out in the Williams. The fife and drum corps of the Salt Lake post, American Legion, and two military bands have been engaged for the occasion oc-casion in addition to a special dance orchestra. The plans of the general committee contemplate entertaining up to several thousand thous-and people at this event, Mr. Robinson said. |
