Show Milford Teachers At Aspen School David C. Heslington and Alvin 11. Baker of Milford are attending the Brigham Young university summer school, held at A -jinn ,'iove in Provo canyon. This Alpine summer school is :.rlil hih in the mountains, 7000 feet up on the ea.-:t slope of Mount Timpanogos. Students and faculty live in rustic cabins and attend classes held under canvas "flys" ; itched among the aspens and i.alsams. The campus is on the moraine of an ancient glacier. Plants and trees in wide variety, wild animals and birds, aquatic life in streams and little lakes, and cliffs full of faults and fossils provide pro-vide the "laboratory equipment" for many classes in geology, botany, bot-any, zoology and other subjects. Art is also popular because of the nagnificer.ee of the Alpine scenery. scen-ery. Nearly 150 students from ten -tates, the district of Columbia, Canada and Mexico are attending the session. With the facultv members and their families, the little hamlet in the woods numbers about 200 persons. |
