Show Abandoned Car Is Found On Highway That those who travel highway 21 west of Milford are an honest lot .which, sorry to say, is not always al-ways the case with some other highways of the state is amply-proved amply-proved by the fact that an abandoned aband-oned car stood on that highway as it passes through Pine valley from Tuesday to Saturday of last week with only the spare tire gone at the end of that time and that may have been taken off before the car was abandoned. Noticing that , the car had not been moved while she made a trip or two over the road, Mrs. Daisy Rowley, who transports the mail between Milford and Baker, Nevada, Ne-vada, told Sheriff Niels Jensen of the circumstances and he directed L. G. Clay, local garage man, to bring the car to Milford. From papers in the car, ownership was traced to Kenneth Swanson, apparently ap-parently a Denver salesman. Later Lat-er a finance company directed that the car be taken in to Salt Lake and this was done Tuesday of this week by Ernest Pearce of Beaver. It is understood that three young men, foot -travelers and weary, made their appearance in Garrison Tuesday of la.-t week and it is presumed pre-sumed that it was they who had abandoned the car, probably after stealing the machine and driving it from Colorado. At any rate, it was evident that a quick trip had been made, for an entry in the sale-man's sale-man's book, still in the car, was : dated only the day previous to that on which it was first noticed. j P. S. Needless to say, the car j was "out of gas." |
