Show Amateur Series Begins Manager C. L. Firmage of the local Firmage theatre this week began another series of amateur contests with winners ss follows: Tuesday night Lorellia Stoddard, with a vocal solo, was winner of first place in a very close contest with little Misses Carol Jean Graff and Carol Myers, tap-dancing in cleyejr little boyj-and-gir! suits. These girls from Minersville Miners-ville came in as strong secona place winners and two other little misses, LaRue and Reva Murdock, were third prize winners. Wednesday evening Norman Fisher won first place, Mary Jane Kesler second, and Joe Cooner, a CCC boy, third. All sang solos, the Cooner boy accompanying himself him-self on the guitar. 1 Mr. Firmage is anxious to give j all talent in western Beaver coun-I coun-I ty opportunity to show their abil- ity and urges early registration ' for forthcoming contests. i r, |
