Show Utah and Idaho : Debaters To Meet High school debaters from Utah will complete with Idaho speakers for the first team in history on March 25 arui 20, when the first annual interstate forensic contests are held on the Utah State Agn.-cultui-al college campus at Logan. This tourney, to which every teaTt in Ik-aver county ha-s been invited,, ''ill include competition in formal uebate, extemporaneous speech and oration. Pr. motion of better debating through an exchange of ideas and information is the aim of the contests, con-tests, according to J. Robert Bullock, Bul-lock, president of the Agora club, a group of collegiate debaters which is cooperating with the college col-lege is sponsoring the meet. Extempora-r.e: Extempora-r.e: :-.ts s.ikers will talk on a phase of the labor problem, and orators can present a speech on any patriotic patri-otic subject. Each team entering the meet will debate six rounds before a decision de-cision is given. Every team entering enter-ing is thereby assured of at leas: six debates. In case of a tie, leading lead-ing teams will debate each other. Housing arrangements are being male a: college dormitories and fraternity and sorority houses, and debaters from more than 75 schools have been invited to the meet. |
