Show SITUATION jis seen at Hie . qeles Union ftock Ijards Los Angeles Union Stock Yards, September 10 One by one the restrictions re-strictions that have hedged in the livestock market are being dropped. Last of the government set-aside orders on livestock slaughter have just been cancelled. Uncle Sam is now on the same basis as the corner butcher when it comes to buying meat. He buys it or. the open market, instead of ordering packers to set aside certain percentages per-centages of their kill for government govern-ment use. Late developments also include more liberal killing quotas for plants not maintaining federal inspection in-spection and announcement of more liberal point values for the September period. Point values on all classes and grades of meat have been cut an average of 28 percent which is expected to be of material benefit in moving meats into consumer con-sumer channels. Price controls, through subsidy payments, are being maintained and are expected to prevent wide fluctuations in market prices.
