Swimming Pools Of State To Be Closely Checked j No swimming pool in the state j of Utah will be permitted to operate oper-ate after May 30, 1938, until its' management has secured a permit per-mit from the Utah state board of j health, according to a bulletin re- released recently by J. L. Jones,! state health commissioner. The bulletin has been circulated to all pool owners and operators by L ynn M. Thatcher, director of the division of public health engineering engi-neering and sanitation. Swimming pool operators are warned that they must accept full responsibility responsibi-lity fcr requesting, obtaining and displaying state board of health permits before May 30. j Pools which cannot maintain satisfactory bacteriological conditions, condi-tions, as demonstrated by past ex-V perience, may not receive permits until approved reconstruction work has been completed, Dr. Jones said. Some pools do n.t comply j completely with construction standards, stan-dards, hut their managements have demonstrated ability to main-1 tain satisfactory standards of cleanliness under limited loads. In cases of this kind, Dr. Jones said, provisional permits will be issued, accompanied by orders specifying time limits within which e..nstruc-; tional improvements must be made, that the pools may qualify per-1 manently.
