Show Funeral Held For Mrs.J.R.Murdock Largely attended funeral ser- i vices were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Clara Farnsworth Murdock, Mur-dock, 83, who died at her home ! Saturday following a stroke which she suffered on Thursday. I The services were held at 2 o'clock at the .L. D. S. chapel with j Bishop Carlyle Gronning in charge and offering the opening prayer. The Reverend D. G. Blackstock ' read the Sermon on the Mount and Psalms, in accordance with the wishes of Mrs. Murdock and also offered consoling remarks for the bereaved family. Mrs. Vena Wilson, Wil-son, a long time friend and neighbor neigh-bor of Mrs. Murdock, read a poem, a fovorite of the deceased, and former State Representative George C. Murdock of Beaver spoke of his love and respect for "Aunt Clara", and of his high regard re-gard for the family, Musical numbers included a vocal solo by Dan Ferguson and quartet selections by Mrs. Harold Cline, Mrs. George A. Moore, Mrs. Vance Fisher and Mrs. Clyde Grif- jfiths, with Mrs. E. L. Smith at th piano. Interment took place in Mountain Moun-tain View cemetery at Beaver. , Mrs. Murdock was born at Beaver, Bea-ver, a daughter of A. M. and Elizabeth Eliza-beth Guy Farnsworth. She was married to Joseph R. Murdock, , who preceded her in death. She spent the major part of her life in Beaver and Milford, but resided in California for a period in 1929. Devoted to reading and study, she also took a prominent part , in literary and religious activities, having been an adherent of the Christian Science church over a considerable period of time. '.Surivors of Mrs. Murdock include in-clude four sons: Joseph R. Mur-t!ock Mur-t!ock jr., Milford; Lincoln Murdock, San Francisco; John C. Murdock, Bakersf ield, California, and Waldo F. Murdock, Sacramento, California; Califor-nia; a grandson, Monto C. Levi, Ouray. Colorado, whom she raised; two sisters, Mrs. E. A. Hodges, Tooele, and Mrs. Hattie Christian, San Francisco; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. All four sons and the grandson were present for the services, also , Mrs. J. R. Murdock, Mrs. J. C. Murdock and Mrs. Waldo Mur- Idock, together with a sister, Mrs. Hodges and her daughterinlaw, Mrs. Grant Hodges of Salt Lake City, and Fred Levi of Messa, Washington, formerly of Milford. |
