Show Auto Accident On 21 Injures Pine Valley Man John Westerhold of Pine Valley was seriousy injured at 9:45 A. M. Thursday morning when the car he was driving left the road and turned over six miles west of Milford Mil-ford on Highway 21. Westerhold suffered several broken ribs, possible pos-sible skull fracture, possible back injuries and severe lacerations about the head and face. Westerhold was en route from Pine Valley, where he is employed, to Cedar City, driving a La Salle sedan belonging to Frank Pryor of Minersville. The car was almost a total wreck. Evidently traveling at high speed, the driver failed to make a curve, skidded onto the gravel, then zig-zagged back and forth across the road for 75 yards before plunging over an embankment. The car rolled over twice and came to a stop upside down. , George Dunn, manager of the Golden Reef mine, and Max Enge-man, Enge-man, A. C. Mauchley and W. V. Powers., officers of the mining company, en route to the mine, were the first to reach the scene of the accident Westerhold was crawling from the wrecked car as they approached. Dr. Rollin R. Shannon and Town Marshal Allen Bingham, arriving a few minutes later, administered first aid, and Westerhold was removed to the Milford Hospital. |
