Show Rites Are Held ! For Dead Firemen With .Bishop E. H. Bird 'presiding, 'pre-siding, funeral services for James Hurley Handley were held Tuesday Tues-day aftternoon in the Milford ward chapel, a large number of friends being in attendance. M. Joy Christensen was the principal ' speaker at the services and musical musi-cal numbers included vocal numbers num-bers by a mixed quartet. Burial took place in the local cemetery ' with a group of Beaver national guardsmen doing military honors for the occasion. Death occurred the preceding Saturday night at a dance given in the Firemen's hall by the lady firemen and was due to a heart attack. Mr. Handley, more familiarly known as "Red," was born January Janu-ary 16, 1892, in Tilden, Kentucky, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Handley, now living at Richfield. For the last 15 years he had made his home in Milford, being affiliated affili-ated with Escalante Post No. 1546, Veterans of Foreign Wars. His fraternal affiliations were with the Elks lodg-e and his brotherhood brother-hood organization. The deceased ,js survived by his wife, Rita Bradf ield Handley, and son Charles; his parents, and the following brothers and sisters: Herman Handley and Mrs. Stella' Snyder of Richfield, Mrs. Pauline Jolly and Mrs. Nola Tripp of Salt Lake City, Jesse Handley of Oakland, Oak-land, California; Mrs. Flora Pope of Monroe, Mervyn Handley of Milford and Thatcher Handley of Preston, Idaho. |
