Show 1VI Relief Society To Give Big Ball On 34th Anniversary In this issue of The News appears ap-pears the ad of the local L. D. S. Relief society, telling of their birthday ball, to !be given Thursday, Thurs-day, March 23. It will be in commemoration com-memoration of the organization of the local society 34 years ago, and The News has been furnished with the following information concerning concern-ing the organization meeting. A special ward meeting was held at Milford March 23, 1905 for the purpose of organizing a Relief society. Bishop J. T. Tanner presided. pre-sided. David Tanner offered the opening prayer and the congregation congrega-tion sang "The Spirit of God." : . The speakers were -Sister Shepherd, Shep-herd, stake Relief society president; presi-dent; C. D. White, president of the stake; Sister Pollie White, Elder" Warren Shepherd and Sister Mary Fernley. Sister White read the articles of agreement for the Relief society, which were accepted by all the sisters present. An election of officers of-ficers was held with the following being chosen: Hannah Pitchforth, president; Lucy Burns, first vice-president; vice-president; Celia Kay, second vice-president; vice-president; Jennie Tanner, secretary; secre-tary; Johannah Duncan, treasurer. .. The congregation sang "The Time Is Far Spent" and the benediction was offered by Elder Thos. C. Reid. Charter members of the Milford Relief society were Nancy Hannah Pitchforth, Lucy Burns, Celia Kay, Jennie Tanner, Johannah Duncan, Harriet M. Clarke Carrie Fother-ingham, Fother-ingham, Edith Reid, Berley Kirk, Margaret Hickman, Retta Tanner, Jennie Smith, Idonna Carroll anu Mrs. Frankie Mclntyre. |
