Show v Entertainments Staged By Schools The high type of talent which Milford has in its schools, among students and teachers alike, was impressively demonstrated twice within the past week. On Friday evening, April 27, the , Milford Elementary grades entertained enter-tained with a program entitled, "Our Land of Song," with Principal Princi-pal Clarence J. Wendel directing. The program was divided into seven parts: Our Country, The Music Road, American Heroes, America Works, America Fights, America Sings and America Worships; Wor-ships; with well-chosen and appropriate ap-propriate songs exemplifying the various themes almost every song being rendered in an outstanding manner. The staging arrangement, arrange-ment, too, was cleverly executed, and the event goes down in Mil-ford's Mil-ford's school history as a big success suc-cess in every way. Gross proceeds for the evening were well over $100, according to Mr. Wendel. Tuesday evening of this week the Seventh War Loan drive was given a good start by high school talent, with the presentation of a Variety show, consisting of dances, skits, songs and other entertainment entertain-ment all being clever and entertaining enter-taining and some of them approaching ap-proaching professional standards. Veda Mortensen, quiet but capable M. H. S. business instructor, had much to do with the presentation and paid for the programs out of her own private funds quite a patriotic gesture of itself. War bonds and stamps were sold at the door and resulted in a very substantial start toward Milford's quota for the Seventh War Loan. |
