Show Would Test New Rifle on Russian Bear In order to test the effectiveness of the U. S. army's sensational new Garand rifle, Rep. John D. Dingell of Michigan introduced a bill which provided for the sale of 10,000 of the rifles to Finland at a cost of one dollar each.
