Show I Dick Hickman, senior .student at Milford high school, is supporting himself on crutches as a result of un accident sustained Monday in playing basketball, when he "pulled" "pull-ed" some of the muscles in his left leg. Miss Margaret Cochrane entertained enter-tained the S. O. D- H. girls at the Eastern Star card party Tuesday night, with Miss Ruth Pool receiving receiv-ing the high score prize and Miss Lois Williams the consolation prize. Milford O. E. S. members gave another very successful card partes par-tes Tuesday evening at the local Masonic hall, the affair being most enjoyable. Bridge was played at some 17 tables and delicious refreshments re-freshments were served. Appearing in the Salt Lake Tribune Tri-bune of a few days ago was a picture pic-ture of Miss Ina Smith of Milford and two other girls attending the B. Y. U. at Provo as they appeared while modeling outfits they had worked on as activities of the home science and designing classes at the Provo university. Mrs. J. H. Hanlon entertained the Big Four bridge club at her home Wednesday evening with Mrs. Ray Malstrom winning the high score prize. Those present were Mesdames Wilson Moore, Ray Malstrom, George Moore, J. Mrs. Sam Hickman received the members of her bridge club at her home Tuesday evening. Those present were Meslames A. B. Gilliam, Gil-liam, R. X. Trippe, D. G. Cates and Mrs. William Carlson. Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Morris, father and mother of George S. Morris, accompanied by Mrs. O. Laski, mother of Mrs. G. S. Morris, left Tuesday, April 20, for their home in Los Angeles, after spending a weeks vacation visit with Mr. and Mrs. George S. Morris and family. Upon his arrival in Los Angeles the elder Morris will retire from busines life, having served 28 years with the telephone company. The American Legion Auxiliary met at the home of Mrs. Metta Weston at an initiation meeting followed by bridge. There were 23 members present and a dainty U'nch was served by the committee who were Mrs. Leth'a Smyth, Mrs. Ruby Patterson, Mrs. Cal Root and Mrs. Metta Weston-. At bridge Mrs. Ethel Nielsen received the prize for high points, Mrs. Sareessa Baker for high honors and Mrs. Ethel Smith consolation. Eddie Leech, new manager of the Why-Xot service station, with other Shell station men from Beaver, Bea-ver, Wednesday evening attended a special Shell retail men's meeting meet-ing at El Escalante hotel in Cedar City. Mrs. Vic Carlson motored them to Cedar in the absence of her father, L. A. Wynaught, distributor dis-tributor for Shell products, who was busy caring for the needs of the three members of the members mem-bers of the state road commission, who were here for an inspection of roads and airport and to attend Lions club meeting on his invitation. |
