When this inlurmation is given to tin- county agricultural conservation conserva-tion committee, the ranch will be examined and a report of this ex-ami ex-ami lation will be sent to the rancher, along with approval of practices to be performed for that ranch for the year. Stockmen interested in taking part this year should get from their county agent a copy of form VVIi-llfi, entitled "Description of bailee Land for l'J.'J7 Agricultural Conservation Program." This form should be filled o'-it whether or not the stockman took part in the 1930 piogram. Killing out this form, in cooperation with the county committee, is the first step in taking tak-ing part in the program. It does nut bind the stockmen, ibut it is essential if he does take part. On the form, the stockman will describe de-scribe the range land on the ranching ranch-ing unit by section, township and range. On the back of this form, he will draw an outline map of his ranch. The form also gives the total area of land in the ranch and the area of range land. Stockmen may earn payments, pay-ments, up to this limit of the i angc-building allowance, for such practices as contouring range land, developing springs and seeps, constructing con-structing earthen pits and reservoirs, reser-voirs, digging or drilling wells, water spreading, range fencing, and for the practice described as deferred grazing, which consists of keeping stock off part of the range for part of the season. County agents or county committeemen commit-teemen can furnish stockmen with additional details on the range program. |
