Show Church Day In Milford (Contributed) Our welfare, happiness and prosperity pros-perity depends on our training that comes to all of us not only to earn a living but to lift ourselves in a phere by continual approach to the lofty ideals greater than those found in the average life of man. The future generation of our nation na-tion depends on what this generation gen-eration shall be led to do. God's Spirit was in the heart of our early American forefathers and all their worthy activities were guided by their trust in Him. We people of Milford face a task set before us by those that made America's beginning be-ginning and in this hour when man's wisdom totters we, too, like those of old, must, turn our eyes to Him Who created us: the mighty God. But how shall we meet Him? Should it not be in the spirit to honor Him ? Church day at the L. D. S. ward is set to gather all those of Milford Mil-ford back into a time of praise and rejoicing. The lovely place of worship begun needs your sincere help to free it from bondage. It is a house of divine worship: it is sacred like our dead. It is built for no few personalities. It is God'9 house. It calls us to render a service ser-vice by oud divine belief in better things for mankind. When asked for a contribution you are not giving for a cause that can be looked lightly upon W(hen th . perils of sickness, catastrophe and death lie close to your door, what can be your request of the Master? (Continued on last page) Church Day In Milford (Continued from first page) When he says, "My house was in debt and in need of completion and I asked but so little out of your means and you gave me naught." Surely when the time comes and churches need our help that they might be truly places of worship, our hearts must answer for us. Our greater and nobler feeling must inspire us to do and say, "Milford, your churches shall receive my help." Aye, you men, when from your mother's knee she taught you the secret of the universe: That trust in the spirit of the Divine was the greatest gift to man. Your answer now should be, "1 remem-iber". remem-iber". Then let not your pocket-books pocket-books be closed against your Creator Crea-tor for the time may come when you will need the "manna" of the wilderness. The most divine, sacred anil con-fented con-fented feeling is when one has truly g-iven for some great cause and this cause, Fellow Christians, is to lift a House of Prayer, a House of Worship, a House for God tc dwell therein, to .be free from debt and made a glorious structure lor the Milford community. You may sometimes feel the rang of hunger, you may sometimes feci the test of sacrifice but you must never feel your own soul shrivel below a fine fellowship with God who gave you life. Rejoice Re-joice and be happy with all others on ward day, knowing that the place of worship received liberally of your help. Contributed. |
