Show Ford Announces j New 1938 Models; Place OnDisplay i ! Ford V-type X-cviindor ear- foi IS.'iH go on display this week in ' Ford dealers' showrooms throughout through-out the United States. They are offered this year as two di.-tinct lines, differing in appearance anJ I price. Both are in the lowest price field. ! One is a newly-styled standard Ford line, in coupe, Tudor ana Fordor body tyj.es, powered eitii'-i . with the K"- or the CO-hor-epower V-S enfine. The standard cars are I designed to meet requirement ol I the many motor car owners who'-e m: ans dictate maximum economy in first cost as in maintenance and o era-ting costs. The other is a newly-designed de luxe line for owners who de-ire-additional style and appointments. Powered only with the So-h"vs-.--power V-K engine, the line- incbi de-eight de-eight bo'.'y types, the coufe and Tudor and Fordar sedans, as we!: as the club c"upe. convertible cabriolet, club convertible cabriolet, cabrio-let, convertible se!an--and the phaeton. The t-vu lines of cars have the same improved V-K chassis, but their styling is distinctly different. The de luxe cars are larger ir. appearance. The hood has bc-en lem-thenei'. Its nearly vertical front is carried in a "V" well down into the radiator 'jrille, with the fa miliar V-8 at the tip of the "V". Horizontal lines of the grille bars-arid bars-arid the louvres are echoej in a bri-rht rustle-ss steel band which is carried along the belt to the rear. The new standard line car- al.' present a larger appearance with a newly-desi j-red front end. grille hood and fenders. The front end is formed in a "V", with the horizontal hori-zontal grille bars extending unbroken un-broken along the hoodside to form the louvres. Interior, of the t"'o ea-s are roomy and attractive, styled ir keeping with the exfrb-s. Th-de Th-de luxe sedan interiors are larger A new instrument panel add- measurably to the beauty of the front compartment. The panel of the de h xe line cars is in walnut grain fi:il-iTT, that of the standard line cars in mahogany finish. Instruments are arranged in two croups directly i: front of the driver. In the middle of the panel is a grille, for radio speaker installation in-stallation when specified. At the right is a glove compartment. In deluxe cars a lock is provided for the compartment and a clock is recessed in the compartment door. Instruments in both Cars are lighted by improved fringe illumination, illumi-nation, designed to provide safer lighting for night driving. Interior lights are located on the right ana left pillars of the sedans and over the rear windows of coupes.
