Show Two Young People Married On Friday O. . of the outsLandin',' events of the Christmas holidays was the marriage Thursday, December 20, of Gladys Mae Martin and Ray Scott Fisher at the home of the bride's parents. Gladys is the only-daughter only-daughter of Walter E. Martin, president of the towTi board, and Mrs. Martin, while Kay is a son of Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Fisher. The marriage is a culmination of a romance ro-mance which began five years ago in the Milford high school, both graduating from that institution. ' Both bride and groom also are former students of the U. S. A. C. i at Logan, the latter having gradu-' ated from that college last spring. A beautifully illuminated and 1 decorated Christmas tree was the background for the marriage and ring ceremony, which was performed per-formed by Bishop Laurence Peterson Pet-erson of the Milford L.D.S. ward, j The bride wore a deep blue silk ! eivet. gown with a corsage of gardenias and tiny pink rosebuds, j Mrs. Wilma Weston was matron of honor and Hal Fisher, brother of the groom, acted as best man. Immediate Im-mediate members of the two families fam-ilies and a few close friends were in attendance. After the ceremony the group assembled at the Union Pacific dining room, where a lovely banquet ban-quet was efficiently served by-Manager by-Manager and Mrs. E. B. Hewitt and their staff. The table was beautifully decorated with a large three-tier wedding cake, which had a tiny bride and groom perched on top, and a bowl of roses and ferns at each end of the table. During the banquet musical numbers and a reading were given by those in attendance. The happy coupJe are leaving January 4 for Pullman, Washington, Washing-ton, where Mr. Fisher will resume his work as teacher-student at Washington State college. Gladys w-ill be missed very much by all her friends and associates, especially espe-cially Marie and little Karen Johnson, John-son, who have been inseparable companions. We all wish them success in their new adventure. ii |
