Mi'. ai:il -Mrs. Clifton Hughes of Park City visited at the home of Mr. Hughes' brother, J. M. Hughes, from Friday to Tuesday. Jud-e and Mrs. K. W. Clay of Burbank visited in Milford Tuesday Tues-day ami Wednesday of this week. They made t!ie trip in their new Packard car which they recently purchased through the W. R. Martin Mar-tin garage, enjoying it very much. Mrs. Grover Cuddy was hostess tc the Big Four bridge club at her home Monday night with Mrs. Wilson Wil-son Moore receiving the house prize. Those present were Mes-dames Mes-dames Wilson Moore, J. C. Jeffers, George Moore, C. 0. Sportsman, B. K. Hutchins, Ray Malstrom and Lloyd Lee. Mrs. George Moore entertained her bridge club Wednesday evening. eve-ning. Those present were Mes-dames Mes-dames J. R. Murdock jr., George Rogers, Jack Weston, E. L. Smith, Myron Lewis, Gene Kirk and D. S. ; Williams. Mrs. Murdock was the winner of the high points prize, Mrs. Kirk of the high honors prize and Mrs. Lewis received the con- I solation prize. r special meeting of the Ladies Aid of the M. E. church for the t election of officers was held Wed-i Wed-i nes'iay, May 12. Officers elected for the coming year are as follows: fol-lows: President, Mrs. Joe Tribole, vice president, Mrs. T. Gadberry; secretary, Mrs. W. II. Hendrickson. treasurer, Mrs. Frank Doble. Fred Schumacher and his mother, mo-ther, Mrs. L. S. Schumacher, have just returned to their homes in Burbank from a very pleasant trip to New England, the former home of the latter. They also saw some of the eastern part of Canada in the course of their visit. It had been 69 years since Mrs. Schumacher Schu-macher left her Vermont home, never to return until this visit. Her health was much improved by the trip. Thomas Gerrard, manager of the local J. C. Penney store, is leaving Saturday night for a regional convention con-vention in Denver, Colorado, and "the folks 'behind the counter" are "celebrating" the event with a large display ad in The News, tell-of tell-of a Niagara of Best Sellers" for Penney patrons and others who recognize unusual values. The employes em-ployes signing the ad are Vance Fisher, assistant manager, Rosalie Koch, Peggy Blackburn and Irma White. , o |
