Show Wellknown Pioneer Of Southern Utah Is LaidTo Rest Funeral services were held Friday Fri-day afternoon of last week at 1 :30 for Mrs. Almeda Bliss White, 77, who died the Tuesday preceding of troubles incident to her advanced age. The services were held at the L. D. S. chapel under the direction of Bishop M. J. Christensen. Speakers at the service were E. K. Moody and Bishop Christensen. Musical numbers included quartet selections by Richard Hickman, Ardith Bird, James Angell and Daphne Fromm. Interment was in Beaver cemetery, where the grave was dedicated by Samuel Hutch-ings. Hutch-ings. Almeda Bliss White was born January 7, 1860, in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Norman and Sa-riali Sa-riali Bliss. When she was but about three years old the family moved to southern Utah, eventually eventu-ally locating at Holden, where she lived until 1877, when she married Frederick White of Beaver, which became her home. Mrs. White was the mother of five children, only two of whom survive her, Fred of Salt Lake and Koy F. of Milford. Others surviving surviv-ing her are a brother, Alfred Bliss,' and a sister, Mrs. Fannie Terry, of Salt Lake City, and another sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Lucy Kane, of Los Angeles; An-geles; also a granddaughter, the former Ella Hales, now Mrs. D. M. Edwards of Milford, whom Mrs. White virtually raised and with whom she had made her home in later years. |
