Show M Delta Lions Join In Ladies Night An important feature of last Friday's inter-community relations with Delta was the inter-club ladies la-dies night dinner meeting of the Lions clubs of Milford and Delta, held in the Union Pacific dining room, beginning at 6 o'clock. Present for the affair, which is expected to help a good deal in building up a closer; relationship between the west parts of Beaver and Millard counties, were 46 Lions and ladies from Delta and 35 representing the local club. Lion Sam Cline, chairman of the Milford club's entertainment committee, acted as master of ceremonies and a short welcoming talk was made by President E. R. Moody of the Milford club, a former for-mer resident of Delta, with a clever clev-er response by President Ted Harris Har-ris of Delta. Other speakers were Lion J. C. Smith, cashier of the Milford State bank and president of the Beaver County Board of Education, and former Senator George Jefferson, a former president presi-dent of the Milford club and a generous supporter of the annual Delta Junior Livestock show. Program numbers included piano pi-ano solos by Miss Jane Moffitt, local lo-cal high school instructor; vocal solos by Dan Ferguson, with Mrs. E. L. Smith acting as accompanist; accom-panist; an extemporaneous self-accompanied self-accompanied solo by former Mayor May-or Ward Moody of Delta; and a character reading by Harold Winn of Delta. |
