Show State Meis Work j On Water Survey j The state engineer, T. H. j Humpherys, has assigned to Iron county for the purpose of making j an intensive study of undergrouna j water conditions, B. F. Lfgren and Carl K. Ei onn, assistant to the state engineer and field engi- neer, re?pc-cth -ly. This will in- crease the force to five persons ; since Lloyd C. Manzer and Row- j land File have been working in ' the Beryl district for the past four , or five months and Daryl L. Ro- : berts has been in Parowan for two months. j It will be the purpose of Mr. Lofgren to examine carefully the conditions at Parowan where a number of applications have been filed to pump underground water I for the purpose of growing pod i peas for the Los Angeles market. Upon the completion of his work i there he will prceed to Cedar City, where he will spend some time in determining the amount of ap- j propriated underground water and ' the extent, if any, of the unappropriated unap-propriated water in the Cedar City underground water area, j Mr. Roberts has been transferred trans-ferred to Beaver county, where he will spend a month or so on the wells of the Beaver and Milford areas and will also inspect for the state engineer the repair and reconstruction re-construction work being done on the Rocky Ford or Minersville dam. Plans and specifications prepared pre-pared and submitted by J. C. Ul-rich Ul-rich for the repair of the spillway of the Rocky Ford dam have been approved by the state engineer. The construction work has already begun and will be rushed so as to be prepared for releasing water ill the event of an overflow. |
