Show FIRMAGE JTHEATRE Probably the biggest week of pictures ever offered in Milford is that scheduled to begin Friday and Saturday of this week at the Firmage theatre, with the showing of "When a Man's a Man," taken from the popular Harold Bell Wright novel, and filmed near St. George, where the Fox company were on location for several weeks. This picture is one of a twin bill, and producers have outdone themselves, them-selves, it is said, in making a picture pic-ture to do justice to the book masterpiece. Starring in this release re-lease is George O'Brien; around him is a fine supporting cast made up of Dorothey Wilson, Paul Kelly and others. A unique story, cleverly turned, excellently acted, beautifully stagedthat stag-edthat is "Behold My Wife," Sylvia Sidney's new starring picture, pic-ture, which is the other part of the double feature for Friday and Saturday at the Firmage theatre. Miss Sidney, who has played a variety of nationalities in hei screen career, is this time cast aa an Indian maiden and she brings all the charm, all the petite wist-l wist-l ulness to the role that audiences have come to expect of her. She is more than capably supported by Gene Raymond who plays opposite her. The cast includes those two favorites, H. B. Warner and Laurs Hope Crews, in addition to Juliette Compton, Monroe Owsley and Charlotte Granville. This is news! Jean Harlow dances! Jean Harlow sings! And William Powell croons in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's dazzling musica' extravaganza, "Reckless." which shows Sunday, Monday and Tuesday Tues-day at the' Firmage theatre. Forj the first time these two most-talk-; ed-of stars of the screen appear together in one of the most inspirational, in-spirational, thrilling and tuneful pictures of the yv.ir. In "Reck-! less" Miss Harlow plays the role of Mona Leslie, an obscure earni-j val dancer who is lifted to Broadway Broad-way stardom by Powell, the happy-go-lucky promoter of every- thing from trained fleas to bearded beard-ed wrestlers. Franchot Tone is seen as Boh Harrison, the spoiled . millionaire playboy who boosts . Mona to great social heights and j then plunges her into an abyss of, scandal. "Reckless" contains even 1 more than these three stellar, players. Its cast includes such dependable de-pendable artists as May Iiobson,' Ted Healy, Nat Pendleton, Robert' Light, Rosalind Russell, Henry Stephenson and Louise Henry. Be sure to attend this great show and see the delicious Jean dance the trocadero and sell kisses for $500 apiece! "Carnival" Columbia's comedy-romance comedy-romance featuring Lee Tracy, Sally Eilers, Jimmy Durante and that brilliant new child sensation, Dickie Walters, comes to the Firmage theatre Wednesday and Thursday. It tells the human, heart-warming story of a carnival puppeteer who tries to keep his motherless infant son from being taken away from him. Jimmy Durante, Du-rante, the baby's comic godfather, and Sally Eilers, as a pianist at Tracy's show who is deeply in love with him, remains faithfully with him through all his exciting, hilarious adventures. Others in the cast of "Carnival" include Florence Rice, Thomas Jackson, Fred Kelsey and Lucille Ball. "Done in Oil" with Thelma Todd and Patsy Kelley will be an extra feature together with news and another comedy. |
