Show People Appreciate Road Betterment l People who travel the western end of highway 21, and especially ; citizens of Burbank and Garrison, 1 are thoroughly enjoying the five miles of newly graded and grav-1 grav-1 eled road in the vicinity of Burbank j gap which was so badly despoiled i last summer by flood after flood ,which visited that section. The work was done by order of the state highway commission and was supervised by J. Douglas Ryan, local highway maintenance chief, who did a job of which he may well be proud, according to Mrs. Daisy Rowley, star route mail contractor con-tractor for the Milford-Ely route This piece of road, located east of Burbank, was put in terribly bad shape by the summers storms and but for the work of Mr. Ryan and his force of men, would have I proved a real hardship to the traveling trav-eling public this winter. As it is, this heretofore dreaded piece oi road permits as fast and safe rate , of travel as anywhere on highway j 21, which is said to be in unusually i fine shape for the winter. I n |
