Show Funeral Services : Held Sunday For j James Thompson t j Funeral services were held Sat-: Sat-: urday afternoon at 1.00 for James i Thompson, 57, who died the pre-: pre-: ceding Wednesday as the result of an automobile accident November I 29. The services were held in the ; local L. D. S. chapel and were con-: con-: dieted by Bishop E. H. Bird, who also spoke and offered the closing prayer. Other speakers were Leon-i Leon-i aid Banks and E. R. Moody, prin-' prin-' cipal 0f the high school, where two I of the Thompson children are completing their senior year. Glen Blackner of Greenville of-I of-I fered the opening prayer and also I dedicated the grave at Greenville, I where interment took place. Musi-I Musi-I cal numbers included two selections by the high school male quartet, : composed of A. H. Baker, Ralph Thompson, James Angell and Richard Rich-ard Hickman; and a violin solo by i Re.se Griffiths of Minersville. James Thompson was born at Greenville July 28, 2857, the son of William Theodore and Susan Allen Al-len Thompson. He was married to Josephine Dalley November 25, 1901 and they came to Milford to make their home some 19 years ago. He had done some work in the mines but had devoted his later years to farming and stock-raising. stock-raising. Mr. Thompson, honest and industrious though he was, did not have much in the way of worldly riches but was a fine type 0f citizen, husband and father, and leaves a family of whom any parent might well be proud. Surviving him are his wife and the following children: Mrs. Leona Holbrook of Los Angeles, Mrs. Opal Walker of Pioche, Mrs. Mar-jorie Mar-jorie Schramm of Cedar City, and Mrs. Hilda King, Frank Thompson, Thomp-son, Mrs. Myrtle Bentley, Miss Alma and Richard and Roy Thomp-, Thomp-, son of Milford. Brothers and sisters sis-ters surviving are William Thompson Thomp-son of Milford, Dave Thompson of Caliente, Lawrence Thompson of Greenville and Mrs. Rosetta Scott of Salt Lake City. |
