When she was coming; com-ing; to Hollywood to star in "One Exciting Adventure," coming to the Firmag-e theatre Friday and Saturday,' August 30 and 31, she stayed awake all night on the plane hoping , that she would see Texas. She didn't. Then she tried to take an airliner that would take her back to New York and London by way of the Lone Star atate but time would not permit. When she returns to Universal for tha new season, she declares she is coming by train and through Texas. The other part of the double feature program is "Million "Mil-lion Dollar Ransom," featuring Mary Carlisle, Edward Arnold, and Phillip Holmes. There will also be a comedy and a Fox Movietone News. In her new starring role in Para-mount's Para-mount's "Pr-ivate Worlds", which comes Sunday, Monday and Tuesday Tues-day to the Firmage theatre, Miss Colbert has put her secret of success suc-cess into operation. In "Private Worlds," trimly and efficiently dressed and minus the characteristic character-istic bangs, she portrays a cool and efficient doctor of psychiatry, psychia-try, a woman who sees the tragedies trage-dies in the lives of others but fails to recognize he tragedy in her own until it is almost too late. There will also be a Universal Newsreel and the comedy "Gypsy Night." Wednesday and Thursday Kitty Carlisle, who appeared opposite Bing Crosby in his last Paramount film, "She Loves Me Not," is again teamed with the popular singing star in "Here Is My Heart," which comes to the Firmage theatre Wednesday and Thursday. "Here Is My Heart" is a fresh, modern story of a hand.-some hand.-some radio crooner who rides high in the millionaire class. He is also a "nut" on old pistols. He has one, a mate to another which belongs to i Kitty Carlisle, Russian princess. He can't talk to her, because she thinks radio crooning is the lowest form of evil. So in his desperation, despera-tion, he becomes a waiter in order to be near her. The story is told in a humorous, musical fashion. In the course of the story, Crosby introduces three song hits, "June in January," "With Every Breath I Take" and "Love Is Just Around the Corner." Chapter 10 of "Call of the Savage" anil the comedy "Treasure Blues" with Thelnia Todd and Patsy Kelley, will also be shown. |
