Show Figures Given On Red Cross Work In State of Utah Renewed allegiance to the ideals and principles behind the American Ameri-can Red Cross membership roll call in Utah, beginning Armistice day and concluding Thanksgiving day, were made this week by state, church and civic leaders. Governor Henry H. Blood said, "I ask every citizen, to the best of I his ability, to lend his support and I cooperation to the attainment of ' the Red Cross objective. It should be the pride, as I esteem it to be the privilege, of every American j citizen to be a supporting member of this wonderful organization." President HebcV J. Grant. rf tie L. D. S. church, said, "The : ideals of the Red Cross and the services rendered are hiehly com-, com-, mendable. We hope, therefore, that, I the number of memberships taken , fYr will equal if not exceed (th.:t of any previous year". Pr. Adam S. Bennion, Utah roll call chairman, said, "The work of the Red Cross is so thoroughly American that every real citizen wants to support it. Disaster Service: Contributions to relief funds, $2,511. Civilian Relief: Cases acted on by chapter, 552. Public Health Nursing: Home hygiene and care of the sick certificates certi-ficates issued, 250. First Aid and Life Saving: First aid certificates issued, 3,716; highway high-way first aid stations in operation, opera-tion, 48; life saving certificates issued, 619. Home and Farm Accident Prevention: Pre-vention: Hazard check-lists placed by 35 chapters, 119,860. Volunteer Special Services: Garments Gar-ments produced, 701; surgical dressings, dres-sings, 34,275; Christmas bags, 67; Braille pages completed, 193. Junior Red Cross: Schools enrolled, en-rolled, 266; Junior members enrolled, en-rolled, 64,829. Expenditures by chapters for local Red Cross services, $20,300. |
