Show Civic Clubs Will Elect New Officers At Monroe Meet : President James M. Sargent Monday announced that the annual : election of officers of the Associated Associat-ed Civic Clubs of Southern Utah : will take place in Monroe on Saturday afternoon. The meeting of members and directors will convene con-vene at 2:30 p.m. in the high ' school auditorium, i The Monroe Lions club and H. ; Roland Tietjen, one of the Sevier i county directors of the assccia-I assccia-I tion, are in charge of arrange-I arrange-I ments and have planned a ban-! ban-! quet, dance, swimming party and ! a tour of the region in connection j with the meeting, according to Mr. i Tietjen. j In accordance with the plan of I organization of the Associated j Civics Clubs, each of the 15 counties coun-ties elects one new director each year to serve for a period of two years on the board cf directors. These new directors have been elected for 1939 and will take part in the voting along with the holdover hold-over and retiring directors. Present officers, in addition to Mr. Sargent are L. A. Wynaught of Milford, first vice president; Henry H. Jones of Helper, second vice president; Russell Hawkins of Nephi, Frank G. Martines of Richfield, Rich-field, George M. Hunt of Bicknell, 0. W. Lcve jr. of St. George and Reid H.. Gardner of Cedar City, members of the executive board. The office of secretary-treasurer, now held by Ray E.-Carr, and the position of field representative, now filled by E. R. Turtle, are appointive ap-pointive by the executive board. All new officers take over their duties on January 1. Due to the importance of the election meeting, Mr. Sargent has personally urged all director's to make every effort to be present or be represented by written proxies. Discussion on the 1939 program to be carried out by the association associa-tion will also be held preliminary to presentation to the board for adoption, aceoi-ding to Mr. Sargent. |
