Fred CoEtrell had returned to his school work at Occidental college col-lege at Los Angeles. The five year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beard had met with a very painful accident while slidimr on the ice. He collided with another sled and received a wound, in his forehead which necessitated ne-cessitated taking several stitches. ' The coldest spell recorded since the establishment of the weather statkn had been reported by Observer Ob-server Charles Beard as fellows: December 24, 14 below; December Decem-ber 25, 25 below; December 26, 28 below; December 27, 20 below. Mrs. Miles White had departed depart-ed for her home in Caliente, after visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Levi. A pleasant , evening had' been spent at the homle of Mr- and Mrs. M. P. Funeral services had been held for the three month old baby girl of Mr. and Mrs. Burnett Fother- ingham. The baby had passed away suddenly after an illness of only a few hours. Miss Merle Pitchforth of Milford Mil-ford was attending the University of Utah. In spite of the rigid entrance en-trance requirements which had been upheld, the enrollment had been approximately 2500 students, the largest registration ever experienced ex-perienced at the institution. . The newly elected Beaver county board of commissioners had organized organ-ized with C. F. Harris of Beaver, chairman; Herbert Eyre of Min-ersville Min-ersville and Fred Levi of Milford, all Republicans. W. F. Knox was also inducted into office as county attorney. Mrs. L. B. Bohn had' entertained fcr her daughter Eleanor in honor of her ninth birthday- iMias Avanell Newhart had been honored guest at a party given by her mother, the occasion being her tenth birthday. The Saturday bridge club had been entertained at the home of Mrs. P. J. Evans. Mrs. William Feral ey had' -won the prize for high points and Mrs. William Elmer the prize for high honors. Mrs. James Glenn and Mrs. Fred Levi were invited guests. Mrs. Dan James had entertained entertain-ed at cards in honor of her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. William Smith of Salt Lake. Those present were Mrs. Keough, Mrs. Jennings, Mrs. Millie Mil-lie Harris, Miss Myrtle Horton, Miss Lydia Robinson and1 Mrs. J. McCann. Howard Gospill had returned to the U. S. A. C at Logan to complete com-plete his college course. Miss Lila Stanley had returned to her school work in Ogden, after spending the holidays here. Miss Eva Bowman, Miss Louise Levi and Bernardo Bowman had returned to Provo to resume their studies at the B. Y. U. M. P. Lewis was the proud possessor pos-sessor of one of the first compensation compen-sation certificates to be received in Beaver county. 'George Harris and Dr. Parrish had also received theirs- |
