Show Minersville Boys Among Prisoners The fall of Corregidor, last remaining re-maining stronghold of the United iStates forces in the far east, probably prob-ably means more, proportionately: to our neighboring town of Minersville Min-ersville than any other community commun-ity in the United States, with the possible exception of some town in New Mexico. Four young men from Minersville, Royal Wood, Maurice Clothier, George Brick-son Brick-son and Fred Potter, are believed to have been with General Jonathan Jona-than Wainwright's forces when they reached the end of their resistance re-sistance Wednesday. Virtually all of the New Mexico national guard, integrated with coast guard units, were among tHe defenders of the Philippines, but many of them were taken prisoner when the forces on Bataan peninsula capitulated. capitu-lated. Word from two of the Minersville Miners-ville boys, Clothier and Erickson. was received by relatives shortly after General Douglas MacArthur and his party reached Australia, these letters evidently having been brought out by them, but no word was received from Potter and Wood until some two weeks ago, when Red Cross authorities indicated indi-cated that these two boys were on Corregidor island, according to report. i .. v : |
