Show Mrs. Fred Levi of Salt Lake, a former resident of Milford, was a visitor here last week. Miss Ethel Tanner left last Fri day night for Logan, where she will attend the U. S. A. C. again this year. Ike Hood of Caliente, a retired engineer, is visiting here with friends. C. It. Webster, who has spent several years in the Hawaiian islands, will show some very inter esting pictures taken in the is-j land.-, SaturrJay evening, October 3 at 7:!5 at the Firemen's hall. The general public is invited. ' j James Damico is the new shoemaker shoe-maker who has taken over the local lo-cal shop operated by the Vv'eidners, father and son, for many years. Miss Audrey Raines returned Sunday to her school work at the L. D. S. Business college in Salt Lake City. Miss Marie Gillies left last week for Salt Lake City, where she will enter the University of Utah this school year. Dclmar Kirk left last Sunday morning for Logan where he will be. enrolled again this year at the Utah State Agriculture college. A few friends of Miss Ina Smith enjoyed a tea and fortune telling last Friday afternoon at the J. C. Smith home. Those present were the Misses Ranee Smith, Phillis Whitbeck, Sarah Pool, Norma White and Lois Williams and Mrs. Ardath Outzen. Mrs. James Lang left Saturday for Huntington Park, California, where she will visit for an indefinite indefi-nite time with her daughter, Mrs. Charles Neuhart, and her granddaughter, grand-daughter, Miss Avanell Neuhart, who leaves soon for the Hawaiian Islands to continue her nursing work. Mrs. J. C. Jeffers entertained the G. I. A. card club at her home Tuesday evening with Mrs. Otto Steenbock and Mrs. Arthur Con-nell Con-nell receiving the prizes. Those present were Mrs. L. B. Wadding-hani, Wadding-hani, Mrs. William Dawson, Mrs. J. L. Low, Mrs. J. P. Holm, Mrs. Frank Kuchenmeister, Mrs. G. C. Cuddy, Mrs. C. 0. Sportsman, Mrs. Otto Steenbock and Mrs Arthur Connell. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Smith, accompanied ac-companied by their daughter Ina, left last Saturday for Provo where Miss Ina entered the Brig-ham Young university. Mr. and Mrs. Smith returned home Monday.. Mrs. H. M. Hearn returned home Wednesday morning from Salt Lake City, where she was present for the 80th birth anniversary of her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth All-red. All-red. Mrs. Allred accompanied Mrs. Hearn to Milford to spend the winter, a son, A. L. Allred, in government gov-ernment service, having been transferred to Washington. Miss Norma White was hostess to her bridge club last Thursday night with Miss Beth Coleman receiving re-ceiving high score- prize and Miss Ruth Pool the consolation prize. Those present were the Misses Lois Williams, Margaret Cochrane, Beth Coleman, Mildred Killam, Ruth Pool and Ethel Tanner and Mrs. Merle Bradfield. . A number of women met at the home of Mirs. E. R. Moody last Thursday afternoon, the occasion being her birthday. Card playing was enjoyed with the following follow-ing women present: Mesdames LaMar Outzen, Wallace Osborne, LaVell Parsons, Lee Anderson, J. M. Hughes, James Lang, Antone Johnson, Dave Heslington, Mel Heslington, J. C. Smith and Wil-lard Wil-lard Nichols. J. A. Thomas, field representative representa-tive of the United Family Benefit society, was in Milford last week for- the purpose of handing to Mrs. Mary Jane Smith Nichols a check for $750, covering benefit payment on the late Judge Herbert Nichols. Nich-ols. Incidentally, Mr. Thomas and the society's local representative, Bishop E. H. Bird, wrote quite a number of new policies on the strength of this benefit payment, which was made promptly and without quibbling of any kind A farewell party for Mrs. Otto Steenbock, who is leaving soon for Salt Lake City where she will spend the winter, was given at the home of Mrs.Arthur Connell Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon. Bridge was played and Mrs. C. O. Sportsman and Mrs. Frank Kuchenmeister won the prizes. Those present were Mesdames C. O. Sportsman, Frank Kuchenmeister, J. C. Jeffers, G. C. Cuddy, Charles Husbands, J. P. Holm, W. G. White and William Dawson. |
