Show Funeral Services j For Joseph Banks , Funeral services for Joseph; ! Banks, 83, were held Sunday, Serj-j Serj-j tember 27, at 11:30 a.m. in the ! Milford L. D. S. chapel under the direction of ,the ward bishopric, Bishop E. H. Bird in charge. The opening song was "1 Know That My Redeemer Lives," followed by prayer by W. S. Bond. Alvin Baker . then sang the song "I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go, Dear Lord." David Heslington was the first speaker and told of how, early in the year 1853, Mr. Banks' parents,, along with some of the McKnights,; had left England as converts to the Mormon faith. He also elaborated elabor-ated on some of the principles of Mormonism and pronounced a blessing on Mr. Banks' wife and the children who survive him. The song, "Oh, My Father," was sung by a male quartet as the final musical mu-sical number and the benediction was pronounced by J. B. Duncan. Grandsons of the deceased acted as pallbearers and granddaughters served as flower girls. The floral offerings were beautiful and profuse. pro-fuse. Burial took place in the Minersville Miners-ville cemetery after impressive additional ad-ditional services held there at 3:00 o'clock p.m. Joseph Banks was born in Australia Aus-tralia May 9, 1853, and died at Milford September 24, 1936. He was the eldest son of Joseph and Charlotte Eyre Banks. Mr. Banks has six children ,surviving him: Leonard Banks, Milford; Randall M. Banks, Minersville; John N. Banks, Caliente, Nevada; and Mrs. Laverne Davis, Mrs. Delilah Mas-tros Mas-tros and Miss Marie Banks, Milford. Mil-ford. He also has 32 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. |
