Other crews are working on fences; Foreman Perry's crew is j constructing check dams; and j foreman Stoddard's is constructing construct-ing storage buildings at the Experiment Ex-periment station. Early this week there were 18,-340 18,-340 acre feet of water stored in the Rocky Ford reservoir, reported H. K. Boyter, water commissioner. On April 1, 1936, there were only bi',00 acre feet of water in the reservoir, of which the total capacity capa-city is 26,000 acre feet. An average ave-rage daily flow of 40 second feet was entering the reservoir at the time of the report. Captain Nate inspected the Desert Branch camp last Saturday. In the evening the -talkie "Special Agent" was shown in the reading room of the library. For the month of March only three talkies, "Trailing West", "Gold Diggers of 1937" and "Charge of the Light Brigade" will be shown on respective respec-tive Friday nights as many of the North Dakota boys will be going home around the 25th of the month. Chaplain Lamb visited camp Sunday and held meetings with all Catholic men. In the evening a general assembly was held, after which nine reels of films were shown. Monday morning mass was held after regular 6:15 a.m. physical physi-cal exercises. Educational Adviser Stewart attended at-tended a conference at the Milford camp Saturday. Dr. R. C. Merrill, district educational adviser, was in attendance and gave instructions instruc-tions on the educational work in the CCC camps. Captain Horn made business trips to Milford Saturday and Wednesday. Tuesday evening at the regular safety meeting three reels on health and saftey were shown. Dr. Arvin and party visited nearby towns in Nevada Tuesday while on an auto trip. The Ache-sons Ache-sons were house guests of the Ar-vins Ar-vins at Desert Range Monday and Tuesday. One road crew under Mr. Yer-sin Yer-sin is breaking roads through the snow to the site of the spike camp in the cedars. Twelve thousand posts will be cut to construct the thirty miles of fences on the project. |
