Show Parking Project To Be Commenced In Near Future Landscaping of, the old Majestic mill property, located in the rear of the business section, will begin in the near future under the direction direc-tion of William B. Gardner, former for-mer member of the Milfordl town board of trustees, and a committee of public-spirited citizens to be selected by him. Decision to proceed with the parking as soon as the W P A project pro-ject at the Milford fair grounds is completed, was reached at a special spe-cial meeting of the town board held Wednesday afternoon and presided over by Trustee D. E. Kirk in the absence of President iL. A. Wynaught. The sum of $3500 was ear-marked for this project as part of the three-way special bond issue totaling total-ing $7500, vpted May 2 Iby nearly four-to-one, proportions. C. Laval Morris, formerly connected con-nected with, the landscaping department de-partment of the Brigham Young university, later with the state highway department and just recently re-cently appointed to the faculty of the Utah State Agricultural college, col-lege, was employed to draw up plans for this project some three or four years ago but the matter was allowed to drop until just recently. re-cently. His plans called for a project pro-ject amounting to some $17,000, it is understood, and, with some modifications made necessary by the erection of the new library on part of the ground, it is thought the original plans can be followed closely. Set up as a W P A project, with almost all the cost a matte? of labor, it is confidently felt that a wonderful jab c,an be done with the money available. |
