Show Armistice Day TakesHighSchool Students' Interest i Today was the great day for those trying out for ithe Armistice day speechs. Every one of the students came to school arrayed in their best of finery, and were all anxious for the exciting moment when the speeches were to be delivered. de-livered. More than 20 speeches were given by both boys and girls. The winners among t'ie girls were Miss Virginia Ryan and Miss Shirley Altman. The winners among the boys were Thorp Wad-dingham Wad-dingham and How Limb. All of the speeches were very well prepared and given and Milford Mil-ford high school should be proud of such a group competing in heir school activities. All participants should e congratulated even if victory could not come to them all, for, "It takes a good loser, as well as a winner". May we urge the townspeople to attend this Armistice day program on Friday, November 11. At that time the final decisions will be made and awards given and we are sure it will be worth your while to attend this splendid program which has been made possible by the American Legion Auxiliary for the welfare of the students of M. H. S. Friday, November 8, the students stu-dents of Milford high school enjoyed en-joyed a most successful carnival. It seems as if the eighth grade is keeping up with tradition for their class has been honored for the last two yeears in leading in the popularity boy and girl contest. con-test. We hope the townspeople enjoyed themselves, and urge them ito attend more of our activities. acti-vities. They have started to serve hot lunches every noon in our school. This is for the benefit of those those who live on the flat, and those who live far away from the school. There is a small fee made for these lunches, but it is very beneficial to the students. . Philip Carlisle and his parents spent, the latter part of last week in Salt Lake City, due to the death of Mrs. Carlisle's mother. - Miss Margaret Hanlon, a prominent promi-nent student of Milfcrd high school, is quarantined with chicken-pox. We hope she is getting along fine and soon will be back with us. The F. F. A. hoys took a trip to Lehman cave last Saturday. It seems that the school went Democratic Demo-cratic in all but two cases. The purpose of the election was to learn how to vote properly, and for comparison with results in our county. It seems as if we couldn't agree on our elections, for the county seemed to go Republican. |
