Show High School Notes Measles have taken a heavy toll of student attendance the last few weeks. School rooms have many desks ompty. The school play, "Spring Dance," by Philip Barry, will be presented Thursday, March 25, in the high school auditorium. The play is written around college life and is noted for its witty lines and cleverly created situations. It is progressing now under the ahle direction of Fred Webb. Last week in a council meeting, the members of the faculty decided de-cided that two rooms in the school will be converted intoj girls' and boys' reading rooms. These rooms will be equipped with talbles, chairs, and typewriters. type-writers. The students will be allowed al-lowed to go there and study during dur-ing their free periods. Everyone feels that these rooms will be of great benefit to them. This year, as a teacher could not be secured for library, the room has been locked, and could nlot be used to any great advantage. The study rooms will be supplements to the library of other years. It is the sincere hope of the students that this will be a great success. The Senior class is now looking forward to graduation time, when they will 'bid good-bye to high school days. The class of '43 will be the first class in Milflord high school to be graduated in caps and gowns. In the past it has been customary for the girls to wear formals, but that idea has been abandoned this year, due to world conditions. Saturday night at Beaver, the finals of the southern Utah tournament were completed. In the opening 'game, between "the Delta and Beaver teams, it was Delta all the way. With E. Fullmer Full-mer running wild, Delta came out with the game sewed up with a 3-point lead. That gave Delta third place, Beaver fourth. Dixie, in the finals, made Hurricane Hur-ricane look like beginners in turning turn-ing in a masterful performance to win the tournament. With Hafen, Watson and Reber running loose, they won by a margin of 20 points or more. The outstanding five men were Goodwin, I7eaver; Terry, Hurricane; Hurri-cane; Reber, Dixie; and Fullmer, Delta. The outstanding individual was Watsion of Dixie. |
