S. ! Glen, regional manager of that of-i fice, under date of December 16, all! Utah, Idaho and Wyoming applica-1 tions must be on file by December( 31, in order to receive consideration.! Application blanks are available inj the office of the county agent, and! assistance will be given in making' the application, if needed. j I Corn-Hog Reduction Program of the: A A A Announced The Agricultural Adjustment act,1 a measure to aid all branches of; agriculture, has taken into account the facts on supply and demand and seeks to bring about adjusted pro-J duction in the U. S. for markets that, actually exist. The corn-hog section, of that administration is now offer-; ing its plan for adjusting production; to the producers of these two im-; portant products throughout the! nation. It is thought that this plan, points the way out of difficulties; faced by corn and hog growers. Since industrial wages, internation-! al trade relations, and foreign hog production are largely out of their, control, it is suggested that farmers, focus their attention on domestic ' hog producton, the thing which they can control by united action. This project is particularly important, be-! cause through an adjustment or production pro-duction it is felt that a large part of the disparity between farm prices; and the prices of things farmers have to buy can be removed. ! Details of the plan cannot be given, yet, but it is cerain that acreages and. yields of corn of the past two years will have to be given on the corn! contract, as will also the number of breeding and other hogs on the hogj reduction contract. It is well forj everyone to think this over and havej the information at hand so one can, readily make decisions as to whether or not the reduction contract will pnply under his conditions, and if it should be signed. Every farmer I should make his own decision after analyzing his own setup together with the corn-hog situation of the nation. We are advised that contracts con-tracts will reach us very soon now.. J |
