Show !f """ " it Beaver County jj Ladies Schoolmates j j of the Coolidges it J The recent passing of Ex-president Calvin Coolidge, whose old home was in Plymouth, Vermont, at which place he was interred, was also the former home of two Beaver countv ladies, who were schoolmates of John Coolidge, father of Calvin. Mrs. E. W. Clay and Mrs. L. S. Schumacher, of Burbank, in the western part of this county, attended the Black River Academy at Ludlow, Vt., with the senior Coolidge, and their father Moses Burbank was principal of the institution. Calvin also later attended and graduated from this school. Calvin's first teacher. Miss Ellen Dunbar, was also a friend and schoolmate of the Burbanks, and still resides in Ludlow. She cones-ponds cones-ponds regularly with her former schoolmates. It is typical of Calvin Coolidge, as he was known in his later years, that she remarked of him, even at that early age, that "Little Cal," as he was called then, never opened his mouth without saying say-ing something.
