Show CHRISTIAN SCIENCE "Everlasting Punishment" is the subject of the lesson-sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, May 6. The Golden text is from Genesis 18:25: "Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?" Included in the lesson-sermon is the following Biblical citation: "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." (Galatians 6:7). The following- correlative passages from the Christian Science textbook "Science and Htalth with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, are .'.dso included in the lesson-sermon: "Error excludes itself from harmony. Sin is its own punishment, (p. 537). The belief of sin, which has grown terrible in strength and influence, is an unconscious error in the beginning, begin-ning, an embryonic thought without motive; but afterwards it governs the so-called man. Passion, depraved appetites, dishonesty, envy, hatred, revenge ripen into action, only to pass from shame and woe to their final punishment." (p. 188). |
