This screen play, with Spen-j Spen-j cer Tracy in the featured role, shows I Friday and Saturday of this week at the Victory theatre and makes movie-going a distinct pleasure. The story concerns itself with the efforts of the federal government to wipe out the newest and most dangerous national dread the racket of kidnapping. kidnap-ping. And Spencer Tracy, portraying portray-ing a part that encompasses a complete com-plete conversion of character, does a splendid job. Claire Trevor, cast in the leading feminine role opposite him, establishes herself in this one film as one of the screen's most attractive at-tractive actresses. Ralph Morgan has a fine role as a fearless judge and plays it for all it is worth. Others in the cast, rating high praise, are Howard Lally, J. Carrol Xaish, John Miljan, Matt McHugh, Kathleen Burke and Mary Mason. With Jean Harlow and Lee Tracy as co-stars heading an impressive cast, "Bombshell" opens at the Victory Vic-tory with the Sunday matinee, continuing con-tinuing Monday and Tuesday, and promises to provide the heartiest chorus of laughs of all recent film productions. Adapted from the play by Caroline Francke and Mack Crane, "Bombshell" explodes all the unsavory rumors and myths that have emanated in Hollywood. Directed Di-rected by Victor Fleming it is a raucous, hilarious presentation of all these myths that have been woven around film stars and the motion picture industry and is ably interpreted inter-preted by a noteworthy cast of popular players. Others in the cast who contribut excellent performances perform-ances are Frank Morgan, Ted Healy, Una Merkel, Franchot Tone, Pat O'Brien, O'-Brien, Ivan Lebedeff, Isobell Jewell, Louise Beavers, Leonard Carey, Mary Forbes, C. Aubrey Smith and June Brewster. Laughter is the order of the day! Will Rogers comes to the Victory Wednesday and Thursday of next week in his latest picture for Fox, "Mr. Skitch." This is the screen adaption of Anne Cameron's Saturday Satur-day Evening Post story, "Green Dice," and, with ZaSu Pitts in the Principal feminine role opposite Ropers, is bound to register high as a screen treat of rare flavor. The story details the adventures of a typical American family who take to the road in their flivver after the depression has cleared them of all their other possessions. Of course, they encounter all sorts of adventures, adven-tures, most of them unexpected, and all of them hilarious. Others in the cast that supports Rotrers and Mi-Pitts Mi-Pitts are Rochelle Hudson, Florence Desmond, Harry Green Charles Starrest Star-rest and Eugene Pallett. o |
