Show NAUTICALNOVELTIES One of four new U. S. destroyers, due for completion in l'.J.'M, will be named Worden after Lieutenant John L. Worden who commanded the Monitor Moni-tor during the Monitor-Morrimac battle. The elaborately decorated sward, which congress presented to Worden after the battle, is on exhibition exhibi-tion in Bancroft hall at the U. S. naval academy, Annapolis, Maryland, j The I'oldrums is a narrow belt I lying between the northeast and southeast trade winds. It is a region characterized by sultry air or calms of light and baffling breezes, inter-i inter-i rupted by freifont rains, thunder- storms and squalls. In the Atlantic j ocean the Doldrums extend from the i equator to latitude three degrees i north. I The battleship West Virginia ha-' been awarded the efficiency pennant in the battleship class for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1933.
