Pool were Salt ; Lake visitors Sunday, being ac-I ac-I companied home by their daughters, ' Sarah and Ruth, who have been visit-: visit-: ing in Salt Lake and Bingham. I Mrs. Otto JSteenbock left Satur-I Satur-I day for Salt Lake, where she expect-I expect-I ed to attend the old Mercur camp re-; re-; union, to be joined by Mr. Steenbock i on Sunday after which they were to : leave for Vancouvei, K. C, for a visit with Mrs. Steenbock's daughter. The Advanced Home Science 4-H ! club girls returned Sunday evening from a trip in Beaver canyon. ! Those making the trip were Mrs. ; Rudolph Xielseri, club leader, Mrs. ; E. L. Kirk, Norma W -ite, Beth Cole-I Cole-I man, Mary Banks, Madeline Keough, Maxine Kirk and Lois W lliams. 1 Mrs. J. D. Johnston entertained the Pierian club Monday afternoon at her home. An English lesson was given by Mrs. I. L. Kelly and two interesting current articles were read. Members present were: Mrs. Kelly, Mrs. L. G. Clay, Miss Rosetta Koch, Mrs. J. R. Murdock sr., Mrs. 0. C. Koch, Mrs. Roy White sr. and Mrs. J. D. Johnston. Miss Frieda Koch was an invited guest. Members and guests of the Chi-quita Chi-quita club were entertained Thurs day evening of last week at the home of M:ss Dorothy Levi. Members pre--ent were Misses Erma Fothering-ham, Fothering-ham, Betty Murdock, Loretta Murdock." Mur-dock." Hannora Hurtchins, Mildred ivillam and Gladys Coleman. Guests were Alyce Carlson and Helen Kin-rey. Kin-rey. Miss Betty Murdock won high award for points and Miss Killam for honors while Miss Kinney won guest prize. An enthusiastic meeting of parents f pnvpective members of a rejuvenated rejuve-nated Boy Scout troop was held Monday evening at the Community M. r'. church, followed on Tuesday .veiling, by a meeting of those boys who have not yet had any Scouting work and must prepare themselves to pass tenderfoot tests before they may participate in a proposed Scout camping trip which is planned for September 11-14. Another meeting of all boys who exject to affiliate ind register with the troop will be held in a few days. j For several weeks the White Market has been supplementing their j newspaper advertising with printed : heets in order to doubly inform the public of "hot shot" values at th.it enterprising store and the local Safeway Safe-way store is this week following suit with a sheet fairly bristling with scores of items. Both the White Market Mar-ket sheets and those of the Safeway .store are products of the home print shop as may be seen by the imprint at the bottom of the sheet. Needless to say, this business is very much appreciated by The Xews. o |
