Minersville 1 0 1.000 Beaver 0 1 .000 Cedar City 0 1 .000 St. George 0 0 .000 Milford defeated Beaver, 20-17 in a 10-innings game and Minersville took Cedar City's measure, 19-7, Sunday in the opening games of the Southwestern Utah Baseball league, both games being played on the fields of the losing clubs. St. George drew a bye the opening day but enters the fray this coming Sunday when they clash with Minersville at the latter place. : Beaver scored first and then again , in the third inning to tie the two tal-leys tal-leys Milford had rung up in their half . of the third, and again took the lead and held it until the beginning of the seventh inning, when Milford got busy with the stick and scored four runs on singles by Wittehuhn, Carter, Car-ter, Rochek, Horton and Johnson, 1 Milford scoring two more runs in the eighth on a single by Root and triples : by Tanner and Wittehuhn. Milford jwent into the ninth, leading by a score of 15-10, but Beaver put on a . rally and tied the score. 1 Milford was not disposed to give up, however, and scored five runs in the extra inning.
