Show GUN TO BE UNVEILED AT CEREMONIES ON MEMORIAL DAY UNDER AUSPICES OF VETS; IMPRESSIVE PROGRAMME BEING PLANNED A French 75 cc gun, the gift of the local post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars to the town of Milford, will be unveiled on the high school grounds with suitable ceremonies at nine thirty o'clock onthe morning of Memorial Day. L arranging their program for the unveiling, the Veterans have asked the co-operation of members of the American Amer-ican Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary who will participate in the program and turn out en-mass for the ceremonies. Promptly at nine thirty o'clock the program will open with a selection by the high school band which will be followed by the singing of America by the audience led by Mrs. Helena McGarry. Mc-Garry. Reverend H. D. Shepherd will then give the invocation. After the invocation, J. V. Reynolds will give a talk. Immediately proceeding the unveiling ceremony, Mrs. Helena McGarry Mc-Garry will sing a solo. The gun will then be unveiled by a veteran of the Civil War, one of the Spanish American Ameri-can War and two o fthe World War. Sam Cline will then give an appropriate appro-priate talk and the program will close with a benediction by Raymond Taylor. Tay-lor. Such is the program outlined by the committee but as rarangements are not completed, there may be several changes in the plans. The committee appointed by commander com-mander LaMar Outzen to arrange the ceremony is made up of J. V. Reynolds, Rey-nolds, J. Rickerson, and eGne Pitch-forth. |
