Show ED PETERSON DIES IN SALT LAKE CITY FUNERAL AT TOOELE John Edwin Peterson died at the Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City yesterday morning at four o'clock from intestinal inflenza. He had been ill hpre for several days and Tuesday was taken to Salt Lake by Dr. Addy-son Addy-son Bybee and Senator George Jeffer- son in the hope that something could be done to save his life. His death is a distinct shock to the community which for thirty years has known him as a business man and an active worker in city betterment projects. pro-jects. As one of Milford's earliest settlers he is regretted today by the "old timers" as well as by the more recent residents who have learned to like him for his kindly personality and to respect him for his honest, straightforward straight-forward business dealings. Mr. Peterson was born in Tooele on February 14, 1878 son of Hans Peterson Peter-son and Margaret McKellar Peterson. With his parents he moved to Stocton, Utah, at the age of nine and spent his boyhood there. In 1900 he came to Milford and engaged in mining. Here in April of 1913 he married Lulu Whitney of Parowan and here his three children, Farrell, Margaret and John were born.' In 1917 an injury received in the mines made it impossible impos-sible for him to continue mining and he purchased the property on Main sheet where he set up his rooming house ai. 1 Billiard Parlor business which attained the reputation of being the best conducted business of its kind in the county. He was a member of the Lions Club and with his fellow clubmen achieved many improvements in the city and county and accomplished accomplish-ed much individual good. He is survived by his wife, Lulu; his children, Farrell, Margaret and John; his sisters, Mrs. Annie Gundry of Tooele, Mrs. Leah Harvey of Los Angeles, An-geles, Mrs. George Olsen and Mrs. Eugene Briggs of Rigby; and a brother, broth-er, Albert M. Peterson of Tooele. Interment will be in Tooele where services were held two weeks ago for his mother. Complete arrangements have not yet been made. |
