Show Cane Alcohol Useful as Substitute for Gasoline Cane alcohol has been used with some success In Brazil as a substitute for gasoline, the price of which Increased In-creased L'O per cent last year. Tests have shown that the alcohol Is the cheaper fuel at present prices, but admitted ad-mitted objections to Its use are gumming gum-ming of valves and cylinders, "knocking," "knock-ing," smoke, viscosity and the high ignition point.
